Buxus provides critical information from pipeline operators to emergency responders. Information is specific to each operator and includes emergency contact information, products transported, hazard identification, and response guidance. Responders can also request specific information from operators in their communities and provide or report other information critical to operators.

Buxus is a tool intended for use by emergency officials to prepare for, and respond to, a potential pipeline release. Because of this, access to certain information and features is restricted to emergency officials, including first responders. To access features intended for use by emergency personnel, users must either be invited to register by an authorized user, or answer questions designed to validate their status as an emergency official.
